Drinking in Madison

More coming...
Update: Madison is a fun town. Tom wasn't lying. Union terrace, nachtspiel, and state street brats were just a few of the establishments we visited. Our last stop of the night, wandos, had free bacon, which sufficiently grossed John out. Tom and I ate some...

More updates: disgusting free bacon, $1 pbrs & coors lights and the photos to prove it:

(yes, they claim this is edible. Frank plowed through a good basket worth of it. I stuck with the dollar cans)
Madison!
The (in)famous Planter of Michigan Avenue
Chitown!
Visiting a second-rate Catholic school...
Expecting to be turned away (or worse) upon our arrival to notre dame's campus, we were suprisingly welcomed in AFTER the security guard saw bc playing cards on our front dashboard. Perhaps recent domination has increased the ND respect for chestnut hill visitors. While very friendly, he was quick to remind us that, unlike bc, notre dame has a "quarterback" (clausen?!) and that he was quite confident in their chances of defeating us this year. We decided to seek revenge on campus...

(Rizzy, i hope you appreciate my stunning camera work in the last photo...)
Go BC!

In enemy territory...
Arrived in south bend at 8:30, and currently scheming up ways to exact revenge against notre dame (despite recent domination)
Position wanted: professional roller coaster rider (part 2)

Wow. Best thrill coaster. You get launched 120 mph in 4 seconds and ascend to 420 ft before spiraling back to earth. And the drop is straight down. Only downfall is it's 17 seconds long. We can't get half a minute at least!?
Also, the 30 seconds you wait on the track with the ascent in front of you really makes for great suspense. Afterwards John asked how long I thought it was because he didn't know if it was two minutes or five. He again had sweaty palms pre-launch.
Raptor

Fun coaster which is essentially the same as batman (six flags nj) or mind eraser (six flags NE). Also the line where we saw the most jorts, mullets, and cut off tees. You stay classy Sandusky.
Magnum
We wouldn't know how this ride was since it "broke down" after we waited 30 mins for it. Apparently it was unveiled in 1989...maybe time to retire this clunker. No, we aren't bitter.
Bill gave us the good idea to write each day "what we learned."
What we learned today: John is very afraid of heights and there is no coaster in the world that can fix him.

Cedar point - damn good roller coaster park. Thumbs up on the rides (and many pairs of jorts we saw) although the aquafina machine that charged me 4.50 for a bottle of water was the low point.
Mantis

Fun coaster you actually get to stand on.
Millenium Force

John had very sweaty hands as me made our initial ascent. Awesome roller coaster. Our favorite roller coaster of the day. Great first drop.
Maverick

The official roller coaster of the McCain/Palin 2008 presidential campaign. Fast coaster with a lot of cork screws and inverted drops.
Mean streak

A pretty fast wooden coaster that made us pay for our decision to eat that "chicken fingers basket" right before.

Ddnt go on this one but it reminded me of that timeless classic step by step. Oh Patrick Duffy (sigh)

Cedar Point today
We told many people that we would be going to cooperstown on Sunday but we scrapped that plan so we could ride some roller coasters at cedar point today.
Got into Sandusky, OH this morning around 1 and now we are getting ready to hit the park.
Oh and here is the sweet "hotel" we stayed at. John and I are going to eat at the hotel restaurant, aka "the weenie hut." seriously it's called that...

(notice it was still open at 1AM...just all that demand for weenies around here I guess)

Duff's: This mouth is on fire..

The duff's special: 20 hot wings, a large order of fries, celery, carrots, a tub of blue cheese, a pitcher of duff's brew and a huge pile of napkins.
JL: SLAP! 20 minutes later my lips still feel like theyve been blowtorched. But man were they awesome. If buffalo is a fat city, I don't blame them for a pound of it. Tender, crispy, tasty and they packed one hell of a punch. The tellier would have been running to mgh in a matter of minutes. I'd tell you how the fries were but I literally couldn't taste em. Eva, you'd be right at home..

FC: Definitely the hottest wings I've ever had. A runny nose and teary eyes were a mainstay through the meal...but totally worth it. These wings wouldve had the rizzy himself in tears. Just the right crispiness and the buffalo sauce was amazing. Put roggies 10 cent wings to shame. Eat your heart out horse thief!

The result:
